"STARTING "LIE WITH ME": Clement Virgo has started principal photography in Toronto on "Lie with Me," THINKFilm announced. The film, which Virgo co-wrote with Tamara Faith Berger based on Berger's novel of the same name, is about two attractive young people who rebel from middle class conformity through casual and daring sex. Eric Balfour ("The O.C.," "The Texas Chainsaw Massacre") and Lauren Lee Smith ("The L Word") will star. Damon D'Oliveira and Virgo are producing through Conquering Lion Pictures. THINKFilm plans a 2005 release. "Clement and Tamara's script explores human sexuality with a bravery and honesty not seen on screen since Bertolucci's 'Last Tango in Paris,'" said THINKFilm's Mark Urman. "We are thrilled to be in bed with such a provocative filmmaker and fully expect Clement, Tamara and their terrific actors to create the most, honest, erotic, and intimate film about sex ever made in North America."

I admit, this move of hers worries me. It seems like an awfully risky move to make at such a young age, and when her star seemed to be rising a bit. I think it'll end up being one of those make or break roles. Here's hoping it's the former, not the latter

This is the basic premise:

Two young people try to avoid the entrapment of middle-class relationships through purely casual sexual encounters but are confronted with the possibility of love when they unexpectedly connect.

I'm having trouble accessing LLS.Com right now, but I'll check when I can get back in. Things have been rather quiet about it lately. But shooting DID wrap late last month from my understanding, and it's scheduled for release in Sping of 05

Is it going to theaters, or straight to DVD?

I'm actually not sure. It's considering an indie, and I don't think it's received it's rating yet. I'd guess if it can't pull an R it'll end up being straight to DVD. Which is even more of a blow

There's always NC-17 and limited release.

Either way, it might be good for a go.

With an NC-17 rating I'm not so sure how far it could go release wise. If I had to venture a guess I'd probably go with the limited release situation.

At this point though, I'm thinking I probably couldn't go see it myself. Heck, I blush reading NC-17 fanfic

It's just some uber converative rating. I've seen a lot of NC-17 rated stuff that should have been R. It all depends on who's reviewing the movie at the time.
